Privacy Policy
Chess Financial Corp. is committed to safeguarding the confidential information of its clients. We hold all personal information provided to our firm in the strictest confidence. These records include all personal information that we collect from you in connection with any of the services provided by Chess. We will not disclose information to nonaffiliated third parties without your permission, except as required by law. We are prohibited under the law from doing so without advising you first. As you know, we use personal, health and financial information to help you meet your personal financial goals, and do so while guarding against any real or perceived infringements of your rights of privacy.
We limit employee and agent access to information to only those who have a business or professional reason for knowing, and only to nonaffiliated parties as permitted by law. Federal and state regulators also may review firm records as permitted under law. We maintain a secure office and computer environment to ensure that your information is not placed at unreasonable risk. The type of personal information that we collect depends on the scope of the engagement, but could include information about your personal finances, your health, transactions between you and third parties, and from consumer reporting agencies. We may use third party providers to help us collect and aggregate monthly brokerage statement information. This may require the use of your user names and passwords. No third party will be used unless we have assured ourselves that they have high standards and appropriate safeguards with respect to confidential information. We require strict confidentiality in our agreements with any unaffiliated third party that requires access to your personal information, including financial service companies, consultants, and auditors, and we expect them to keep information private. We do not provide personally identifiable information of any client to mailing list vendors or solicitors for any purpose.
Personally identifiable information about you will be maintained during the time you are a client, and for the time thereafter that such records are required to be maintained by federal and state securities laws, and by our professional code of ethics and professional responsibility guidelines. All work papers, reports, schedules, notes, memoranda, and other information contained in the files we maintain for you are solely the property of Chess. After the required period of record retention, however, any information no longer deemed necessary by Chess will be destroyed.
